Privacy Policy
We generate identifiers in your browser and keep the footprint small. Here’s exactly what that means for your data.
Last updated: July 14, 2026
1. Who this applies to
This Privacy Policy describes how localguid.com (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit or use our GUID and UUID generator tools. Questions? Visit our About Us page.
2. Identifiers you generate
GUID and UUID values are created locally in your browser using the Web Crypto API (and related client-side logic). Those values are not transmitted to our servers as part of the generation process, and we do not store them in a database we control.
If you copy, download, or paste identifiers into another app, that activity happens on your device or in tools you choose — outside our control.
3. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-9G2CYKRHBE) to understand how the site is used in aggregate. This helps us see which pages are visited, how often generate actions occur, and where the product can improve.
Google Analytics may collect or process information such as:
- Pages you view and approximate engagement time
- General device/browser information and approximate location derived from IP
- Referral source (how you arrived at the site)
- Custom event data we send for product analytics (for example, a “generate” event with mode and page path — not the generated GUID/UUID string)
Google may set cookies or use similar technologies in accordance with its own policies. You can learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and manage ad/personalization settings via Google’s Ad Settings. You can also use browser controls, extensions, or Google Analytics opt-out tools where available.
4. Server logs and hosting
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically receive standard technical data when you load a page (such as IP address, user agent, and request timestamps) for security, reliability, and delivery. We do not use that infrastructure to collect the identifiers you generate in the tool UI.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Beyond analytics cookies managed by Google, the site may store preferences locally in your browser (for example, light/dark theme). Those preferences stay on your device.
6. Children
The Service is a general developer utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material updates may also be reflected via a notice on the site when appropriate.
